Get yourself out of the “I’m not doing enough” loop
Have you told yourself today, "I'm not doing enough"?
Maybe you feel like you didn't do enough yesterday, last week, or last month
either.
I'm here to help you break free from this untrue thought.
Here's why negative thoughts get stuck on replay in your mind:
Your brain looks for problems to solve. At some point the negative thought "I"m not doing enough" crept in to your mind. Then, it looks for evidence to support that thought. And yikes, your brain can quickly find tiny things as possible proof.
To get yourself out of the "I'm not doing enough" loop, start looking at all of the good you're doing and all that you have done.
If you feel unsure about all the good you're doing, I'm here to tell you, based on personal experience, that just by showing up as a caregiver - you're doing good.
Take action on these 3 simple steps to remember the good you've likely forgotten:
1. Set aside 5 minutes to look at your calendar or photo library on your phone. You'll be reminded of all the good you've accomplished.
2. Ask someone who knows you well, to share the good they see in you.
3. Capture these wins by writing them all down in a journal.
Put this activity into motion to renew your confidence, retrain your brain, and uplift your spirit. You'll realize that you've accomplished mountains more than you thought.
Take time to celebrate each win every day, no matter the size. It will give you an accurate reflection of all the good that you do.
